Zero Tolerance for Nazis – Prevent the Nazi-demonstration!

On 29th January 2005 Neonazis want to march through Leverkusen under the cynical motto “Against Intolerance and State-Repression – Freedom is always the Freedom of Those who think differently”. The nazi-demonstration is being organised by the Neonazi Axel Reitz from Bergheim of the so called “Kampfbund Deutscher Sozialisten Köln” (transl.: Battleunion of German Socialists Cologne). Members of the extreme right “Freie Kameradschaften” (transl.: Free Comradships) and the radical rightwing organisation “Leverkusener Aufbruch” (transl.: Leverkusen’s Arising) are mobilizing for this event.

Prevent the Nazi-demonstration!

Previously the Nazis allready marched through Leverkusen on 9th November 2004 accompanied by 800 policeofficers.
Consciously they selected the date of the 66th anniversary of the “Reichspogromsnacht” (transl.: Reichspogromsnight, Night of broken Glass, the night when Nazis burned down synagogues and devestated jewish shops and houses all over germany) to propagate their antisemitic, rascist and homophobic ideolgy. Several hundred people went out on the streets that day to protest against this outrageous provocation and despisal of the victims of the Naziregime. Yet the Nazi-demonstration could not be prevented. The police felt no urge to interfere even as slogans like “The prettiest nights are always made of cristal” (In german the “Night of broken glass” is called the “Reichskristallnacht”, which means “Reichscristalnight”, because the broken glass of jewish shopwindows reminded of diamondcristals) could be heared being shouted by the Nazis. Only after made a penal report did the public proscecuter’s start to investigate and put up charges because of incitement of the people – investigations still continue.

Don’t let Nazi-demonstations become Normality!

The appearance of Neonazis has changed over the last few years. The rightwing nationalist scene”, which is organised in the “Freie Kameradschaften” and other groups that are independent from political parties, does not only hold demonstrations almost every weekend in different cities mobilizing up to 2000 neo-fascist anymore. Music with rascist contents and a politically right “eventculture” specifically aims at bringing young people closer to the network of militant rightwing nazism. Besides the “classical“ image of the jump-boot-wearing nazi-skinhead a potential has developed which is inconspicuous, flexible and can be mobilised fast.
Parallely to the so called “struggle for the streets” further rightwing potentials are currently being gathered.
Leading representatives of the “Freie Kameradschaften” and the heads of the NPD (Nationalist Party Germany), the currently most succesfull rightwing extremist party in Germany, recently announced their plans for a closely nit cooperation in the near future. Leaders of the “Freie Kameradschaften” joined the NPD and are even present in the party’s federal-committee. The “struggle for the street”, the “struggle for the minds” and the “struggle for the parliaments” is supposed to be linked more effectively

Fascism is no Opinion, Fascism is a Crime!

The attempt of politicians and police to trivialize nazi-demonstrations is far beyond reality. Violent attacks and even assassination attempts on migrants, refugees, homeless people and political opponents go out from these groups. We cannot allow any tolerance for fascist ideology and neonazistic violence!

We all are called to set us with determination and creativity against new march of the neonazis.
